New Old Theater Presents College Park Arts Exchange will host a performance of "Double the Rent!", a fun one-act drama presented by New Old Theater, and starring James Gagne, Ian Blackwell Rogers, and Katherine Mack. Hilarious comic actors, Gagne and Rogers were last seen together this summer in the acclaimed Capitol Fringe show, "Jack the Ticket Ripper." “Double the Rent!” is a nineteenth-century English one-act, full of hilarious antics. Mr. Box and Mr. Cox share the same tiny room and neither one notices! One works all day, the other all night. It’s up to their wily landlady to keep them from meeting. How long can this last? You’ll scream or groan at this wry example of mid - nineteenth century situation comedy, performed in the spirit of classic vaudeville. New Old Theater specializes in revival of the hugely popular plays of the nineteenth century, and often performs at historic mansions and re-enactments. Learn more at www.newoldtheater.org. Local Illustrator Lucy Dirksen will teach this fun 10 week course for College Park Arts Exchange. The course focuses on line and contour, and students practice drawing from still life. Interested singers age 5 and up are invited to come and learn more about College Park Youth Choir. More experienced singers can learn about our new ensemble, Vocetti, which will rehearse every Tuesday from 7:30 - 8:30, with general Choir from 6:30 - 7:30. Chris Fominaya, our high-energy director and award-winning music teacher at University Park, helps singers develop strong vocal skills and perform for the public several times a year. $85 per semester per child. Wells and the Campaign Against Lynching, by Paula J. Giddings. This historian of American black women activists discusses great twentieth-century progressives, black and white, who worked alongside Wells and her anti-lynching campaign.
