by Ben Kingsland
Directed by Colin Grube
Saturday, November 7th at 5:00pm
Everything was going fine until the cavemen showed up... Whitehill is an off-beat comedy set in suburban Maryland about overprotective fathers, suburban hunter-gatherers, philosophy and geese.
Ben Kingsland received the ‘Best Writing’ award at Bethesda Urban Partnership’s Play-in-a-Day competition at Imagination Stage. He is the recipient of a Creative Projects grant from the Montgomery County Arts Council to write and produce a reading of a new play for teenage actors. His one-acts have been professionally produced in 2009 by Rorschach Theatre, the Source Festival, and by Journeymen Theater for the Capitol Fringe Festival. His full-length plays have received staged readings at Playwrights Theatre of New Jersey and Olney Theatre, and he will be producing a production of his new three-woman comedy "Heart of Gold," starring Amy McWilliams and Kimberly Gilbert, in 2010. His plays and skits have been produced many times at the community and educational level. Ben graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Johns Hopkins University with a B.A. in Writing.
