Rose tells an intriguing history of how tea plants were smuggled out of China by a Scotsman, so that England could break the Chinese monopoly on tea by starting tea plantations in India. The actors improvise in the Commedia dell’Arte style, so at any moment, the characters might break into a dance or a song. College Park Youth Orchestra Young string players will develop their ensemble and sight-reading skills under the direction of experienced conductor, Ken Whitley. Students rehearse at the Old Parish House, 4711 Knox Road, College Park, MD, twice a month, with three public concerts per year. $275 per child for the year.
