Sept. 17, Asleep: The Forgotten Epidemic that Remains One of Medicine's Greatest Mysteries, by Molly Caldwell Crosby. An account of the epidemic sleeping sickness, encephalitis lethargica, profiling seven sleepers and their physicians.
Oct. 15, Beatrix Potter: A Life in Nature, by Linda J. Lear. Explore the fascinating life of this gifted painter, naturalist and conservationist, as she made her way from privileged Victorian origins to personal fulfillment.
Nov. 19, On Rue Tatin: Living and Cooking in a French Town, by Susan Herrmann Loomis. After buying a dilapidated monastery in a little town, the author learns to cook the food and become part of the local way of life.
Dec. 17, The Language of Baklava: A Memoir, by Diana Abu-Jaber. Raised in upstate New York, but spending much time in Jordan, this Jordanian-American bridges both worlds with recipes.
