Feminine Transitions, by photographer Alyscia Cunningham, is a photographic celebration of natural beauty. It includes a collection of portraits accompanied by blurbs of girls and women ages 7 weeks to 103.

An accomplished photographer who has contributed to such outlets as National Geographic, Discovery Channel and America Online, Cunningham began to notice a lack of self-confidence in many of her female subjects, particularly in women over the age of 40. Setting out to combat society’s pervasive focus on anti-aging treatments and cosmetic modifications, Alyscia began taking portraits of girls and women in their natural states, completely free of makeup and other cosmetic enhancements. The result is a refreshing and inspiring series of photographs that reveals the elegance, subtle and honest beauty of females ranging from 7 months old to 103 years old. These striking images are collected in Feminine Transitions, a gorgeous, full-color, hardcover book released in 2012.
